Takeaways from The Financial Markets In 2021

This was an episode that we filmed with iFAST TV as 2021 came to a close. 2021 has been nothing short of an eventful year, especially the China markets. Kathy shared about how it is very important to buy stocks based on our personal conviction and not copy trade other seemingly successful investors or finance YouTubers. Because it is very easy to throw in the towel when things go south if the decision to invest was from someone else. And unfortunately that was what we saw playing out in the last few quarters.

Kathy also added that as an investor, there must be no reason to be afraid of the bear market and is to be expected. Bear markets are simply a part of market cycles just like we expect winter to come as the season goes by. Too many investors invest with the idea that a bull market is going to go forever and may also become over leveraged as a result. As most investors capitulate, that is when the stock market finally recovers from the bottom and they do not get to partake in the rebound.
